More food and supplies needed

The first contingent of Team 3 left from JFK this morning on a Haitian Counsulate flight to Port-au-Prince. They arrive at 1.45 p.m. and will be met by Luc Louisgene and N. In the part is Dr. David Walker, nurses Vic Tolentino, Susan Elles, and Karen Joseph, all from Yale-New Haven Hospital. They traveled with 4 boxes (1.5x1.5x3 feet each) of medical supplies donated by the Yale School of Nursing, along with 2 duffels w/ 2 tents.

We are working to staff & send 3 additional Health & Wellbeing volunteers with another huge collection of supplies as the second contingent of Team 3. Friday is our target date for traveling through Santa Domingo and taking a commercial bus to PaP.

Luc Louisgene has arranged for a truck to go to the DR market weekly to pick up supplies, mostly food, pre-ordered by Gus Shelegel and paid for by money wired from Finance Coordinator, Dennis Desrochers. This allows the Clinic to better plan for food supplies.

Gus has begun a medical re-supply program whereby we purchase some supplies and combine them with other donated supplies. We are considering a re-supply system using volunteer couriers.

Diane Desmarais organized & repacked donated supplies (20 boxes) at St. John's, Bristol yesterday. Donna Doucette will transfer these things to our staging area at St. John's, Stamford to be taken to Carrefour.  to the church where they will be available to the next teams traveling to Carrefour.
