United Haitian American Society helping
The United Haitian American Society has many on-going projects in support of the Haitian people following the earthquake, including with us. In communications to their members, they generously thank Old St. Andrew's Church and our other partners for the work we are doing. We, too, are grateful to UHAS for their leadership and assistance.
Reine Boyer of UHAS writes, "Although UHAS has signed up to work with larger NGO’s such as Save the Children, Red Cross and Partners in Health, when we learned of Old St. Andrew’s ~ Ecole le Bon Samaritain’s good works, UHAS sought to partner with this grassroots organization as well. It is this dogged determination and love for the Haitian people, and more specifically, the victims of this disaster that attracted UHAS to Old St. Andrew’s ~ Ecole le Bon Samaritan.
"We became aware of this program from a UHAS supporter and friend, Pascale Millien-Faustin, who is also a member of the Haitian American Woman's Association of Stamford, and daughter of the director of Ecole le Bon Samaritain, Rev. Jean-Elie Millien. UHAS would like to thank Rector, Puck Purnell and Coulette Lioce of Old St. Andrew's Church and Stephanie Millien (also daughter of Rev. Millien) who worked tirelessly with us to ensure that our volunteers would be accommodated."
