Welcome Home Team 3 ~ Well Done!

Team 3 arrived at JFK late las night. Carolyn Lang, Team 3 leader, called this morning and said, "It's so good to be home but a part of me wishes I was still in Haiti. There is so much to do."

Before leaving, Carolyn invited the Milliens to visit her in her tent on the dance floor. You see, her tent was large enough to stand in. So, in walk the Milliens, where upon Carolyn says, "It's yours. You can have it." Jean-Elie's eyes nearly popped out of his head. Even for a fit man in his mid-70s, crawling in and out of a tent for months on end can be trying. Now, thanks to Carolyn, Jean-Elie & Mona will be able to walk into their abode.

Carolyn also told me that if there was only one thing she could do for Haiti it would be to take care of the garbage situation. Garbage has long been a huge problem and with the earthquake it is even worse. Let's hope that as the country recovers, that part of the infrastructure is well designed, built and maintained.

I'm looking forward to a complete debrief with Carolyn on Wednesday.
